‘Hervé Ladsous, the UN’s under-secretary general for peacekeeping operations, said at a press conference in the Syrian capital Damascus on Monday, “There is a third party involved in the Syrian equation.”

“There is a third party called the terrorist groups trying to get personal advantage… We see this matter as an issue among the Syrians… In this regard, the UN wants to help,” he added. Ladsous renounced any further militarization of the crisis as unacceptable, noting that the focus in the Syrian crisis now “should be on building dialogue and confidence between the parties.”’

‘A Freedom of Information Act(FOIA) request filed by Friends of the Earth (FoE), Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), and the Nuclear Information and Resource Center (NIRS) has unearthed a shocking series of new evidence proving a deliberate, global cover-up of the true severity of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. And the unfortunate reality is that the mainstream media continues to blatantly ignore this colossal scandal.

Private emails, meeting transcripts and other key documents reveal that both the Obama White House and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission(NRC) were well aware of just how bad things really were with Fukushima from the early days of the disaster, but did nothing to warn the public about it. In fact, NRC and the White House purposely did not warn Americans about a massive radiation plume that struck the West Coast just days after the massive earthquake and tsunami hit Japan’s eastern coast.

According to information gathered from hundreds of pages worth of private NRC emails, conference calls and secret meetings, key players in the Fukushima whitewashing campaign, including the NRC’s David McIntyre and Elliot Brenner, were hard at work in the days following the disaster distracting public attention away from it. By pretending that a radioactive plume did not exist while simultaneously sending out misinformation to the media, these two, in conjunction with White House officials, actively participated in a criminal cover-up of the truth.’

‘You see them in every grocery store and home center – those funny-looking curly compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) that are rapidly replacing the old round bulbs. And pretty soon, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 kicks in, requiring bulbs to be 25 to 30 percent more efficient by 2012 to 2014, and 70 percent more efficient by 2020, effectively phasing out traditional incandescent bulbs as a way to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The energy efficiency of CFLs may be significant, but unlike traditional light bulbs, there is a hidden danger sealed inside each little bulb that requires special handling and disposal.

Released in 2009, Roland Emmerich’s film 2012 plays on the fears and panic engendered by the “OMG-the-Mayans-said-we’re-gonna-die-in-2012″ scare. The movie’s apocalyptic scenario depicts in vivid detail people’s worst fears regarding 2012: The destruction of everything and the killing of everyone … well, almost everyone. While a good portion of the two-and-a-half hour movie is dedicated to CGI destruction, 2012 contains many Biblical, mythological and historical references that gives the story a deeper underlying meaning. Furthermore, a specific message can be understood by the way the crisis has been handled in the movie. It basically says: “If something happens, the rich and powerful will live and the rest of you suckers will die”.’

‘Freedom & Democracy!

We’re lead to believe that we live in a free and democratic society, but unless the underlying reality reflects those words, then words are all they are; the propagandist rhetoric of authoritarian control freaks.

Not only does the UK have the largest amount of CCTV cameras per person in the world; twice the amount of communist China, but it was revealed this week that the Government will go ahead with the invasive “Communications Data Bill”, making UK web users the most snooped on in any Western *cough* democracy.

And what better way to demonstrate that this freedom we’re supposed to have is nothing more than a crude deception, than by enlisting the Queen (the epitome of elitism and inequality) to the tell the peasants how their communications will be ruled.

During Her Majesty’s speech to Parliament this week she announced:
“My Government intends to bring forward measures to maintain the ability of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies to access vital communications data under strict safeguards to protect the public, subject to scrutiny of draft clauses.”

In layman’s terms, the increasingly privatized police services and the runaway and unaccountable intelligence agencies (who will be getting the privilege of hiding behind an even more stringent secret court system) will now have access to almost every electronic communication you make, unless of course they leave some of the data on a train.’
