‘British anti-war activists are to rally outside the US embassy in London on Saturday 19 May to express their anger at the warmongering policies of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).

The rally is to be held one day before US President Barack Obama hosts the 25th summit of NATO in Chicago on the 20th and 21st of May. The organizer of the protests is the anti-war campaign Stop the War Coalition. Moreover, the United National Antiwar Coalition in the US is to organize major protests in Chicago.’

‘Pentagon officials recently disclosed to the Associated Press (AP) that they could not find any photo or video evidence to confirm that Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was killed in the Navy Seal raid in Pakistan a year ago.
AP has submitted more than 20 requests for information surrounding the raid on Bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound to the U.S. Government under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). In response to the request for visual evidence of Bin Laden’s death, the Pentagon stated that it could not find any pictures or video footage of the raid itself or of Bin Laden’s dead body. It also told AP it could not locate any images of Bin Laden’s body that were taken on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson, the Navy aircraft carrier that reportedly lowered him into the sea after his death. In addition, the Pentagon admitted that it could not find an autopsy report, death certificate or results of a DNA identification test for Bin Laden, in spite of claims made by President Obama and reported by CBC News that a DNA test was performed. These admissions follow a related FOIA response by the Department of Defense in February, in which it stated that it had no emails concerning the Bin Laden raid that were sent prior to its execution.’

Iran poses no ‘existential threat’ to Israel - ex-Mossad chief

‘Israel and Iran have no other conflict aside from the latter’s nuclear ambitions, former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy has told RT in an interview. As the threat of military action escalates, Halevy believes a peaceful outcome is still possible.

Despite the ongoing conflict, Halevy thinks there are still people on both sides who want peace in the region; people who want an end to the current confrontation and a return to the kind of relations the two countries enjoyed from 1948-1978.

“Iran and Israel basically do not have bones of contention,” he said. “I think it would be wrong for Iran to allow ideology to be the main driver of its policies and the cause of serious setbacks.”

Halevy argues that talk of Iran posing an “existential threat” to Israel is merely Tel Aviv using big words to impress the international community.

“I think Israel is strong enough to protect itself, to take care of itself. I think ultimately it is not in the power of Iran to destroy the state of Israel,” he told RT. “I believe the leadership believes that in order to arouse international public opinion, in order to mount pressure on the Iranians, it is necessary to impress upon the world at large that this is a serious international threat.”

Halevy says that there is an assumption internationally that Israel possesses nuclear weapons. Whether it is true or merely a bluff no-one can tell. But whatever the truth is, the assumption serves Israel’s interests.

“This is something which is important in the present situation because part of the game now is deterrence. It is very important to deter Iran. If Iran believes Israel has certain capabilities, whether it has or not, I think this is a positive card in the hands of Israel,” he told RT.

When asked whether Mossad’s current mission is preventing war or weakening Iran, he said the mission of Mossad was “to do everything in its capabilities to make a threat which has been opposed to Israel dormant.”

“We have been in what we call a clandestine war for quite some time with Iran. What’s interesting about this war is both sides have more or less preferred that the details of this war, the details of various events, not be exposed to the public,” said Halevy.

The only way Iran could be “reintroduced into the family of nations from which they have been virtually expelled in recent months,” says Halevy, is if it emerges as a “a non-nuclear Iran with an agreement with the Israelis that they will not become nuclear.”

Halevy says this could be possible, especially now, because “international pressure, which has been building up in recent months, is beginning to have serious effects.”’

‘The former director of U.S. programs for production of nuclear materials and components for nuclear weapons, Clinton Bastin, sent an open letter to President Obama the morning of January 13, explaining that there is no weapons threat from Iran’s fully safeguarded nuclear power and research programs. A copy of the letter, which the nuclear scientist also sent to the Iranian Ambassador to the United Nations, was made available to 21st Century Science & Technology magazine yesterday. It is reproduced below in full.

Bastin, who has served in leading positions in government since the 1950s, laid out the case on Iran in greater detail in an interview with 21st Century Science Nov. 18, 2011. The interview, which devastates the arguments for an Iranian nuclear weapons threat, is available at the 21st Century Science and Technology website.

To: Iran Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee to the United Nations
Subject: NUCLEAR IRAN

Dear Mr. Ambassador:

The following message sent to President Barack Obama this morning is based on experience-based knowledge.

There is no weapon threat from Iran’s important, fully safeguarded nuclear power and research programs. Sanctions based on false claims of a threat have disrupted Irans economy and Iranians’ day to day lives, preclude effective negotiations with Iran to resolve problems and increase world dangers.

The ultimate product of Iran’s gas centrifuge facilities would be highly enriched uranium hexafluoride, a gas that cannot be used to make a weapon. Converting the gas to metal, fabricating components and assembling them with high explosives using dangerous and difficult technology that has never been used in Iran would take many years after a diversion of three tons of low enriched uranium gas from fully safeguarded inventories. The resulting weapon, if intended for delivery by missile, would have a yield equivalent to that of a kiloton of conventional high explosives.

Drawings of weapons found in Iran by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors are fakes, prepared by dissidents to harm Iran. Any drawing for a nuclear weapon program would be stored in a top secret vault and never seen by inspectors.

Please share this information with your cabinet, Members of Congress, all Americans, and leaders of other nations, and the United Nations; end sanctions against Iran’s nuclear programs and support strengthening Iran’s economy.

(Clinton Bastin directed U.S. programs for production of nuclear materials and nuclear components for weapons and the successful U.S. nonproliferation initiative with India. He was a consultant to U.S. national security agencies on proliferation threats in other nations and a leader in the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign. He reviewed in detail 1970 U.S. and Iranian plans for nuclear cooperation, and has maintained cognizance of Iran’s plans since that time.)

Mr Ambassador, please share with others at UN and others as appropriate, and let me know of any suggestions or comments.

Best wishes!

I would greatly appreciate help from you and others correcting this great wrong.

CLINTON BASTIN

Chemical Engineer/Nuclear Scientist,

U.S. Department of Energy (Retired)’

‘Florence + the Machine obtained commercial and critical success by releasing music with a distinct sound and feel. Although her works are often covered by mass media, one aspect of her act is rarely mentioned: the esoteric symbolism of her songs and videos. We will look at the meaning of the videos “Shake it Out” and “No Light No Light”, two enigmatic videos from the album Ceremonials.

Florence + the Machine is different from most of the singers mentioned on the Vigilant Citizen for several reasons. First, there is obvious talent and artistry involved in her works, making them more profound than most pop songs out there. Second, there is a definite occult influence in her music but it is not hidden or concealed, but rather all out in the open. In an interview with Nylon magazine, Florence stated:

“I wanted to be a witch when I was a kid. I was obsessed with witchcraft. At school, me and my two friends had these spell books; I always wanted a more magical reality. I had a little shrine at home and I did a spell to try and make the boy in the other class fall in love with me.”

Despite this known fact, I never found any review or analysis of Florence + the Machine’s work from an occult point of view, a field Florence Welch is obviously well versed in. The videos of her first album Lungs had some occult concepts infused into them. For example, her hit Dog Days are Over alludes to the dog star Sirius, an all-important celestial body in esoteric teachings (for more information, read the article entitled The Mysterious Connection Between Sirius and Human History). An article on Pseudo-Occult media described some of the occult and MK aspects of the videos from her first album – centered around the imagery of white rabbits, bird cages, Alice in Wonderland and so forth – so I won’t dwell on those. Her second album, Ceremonials, is slightly darker and more focused on profound esoteric concepts that deserve some analyzing.

The videos of Shake it Out and No Light No Light both contain enigmatic imagery (see the confused comments on YouTube) that relate to ancient occult concepts. Analyzed from an esoteric point of view, both videos can indeed by seen as “ceremonies” where symbols and colors describe a story of profound transformation. The imagery of Shake it Out tell the story of an initiation ritual in a strange secret society while No Light No Light describes a profound spiritual change in the context of duality. We’ll look at the esoteric meaning of both videos.’

‘If Fox News viewers want to be informed about current events, they might as well turn off the TV.

A poll released by Fairleigh Dickinson University on Monday found that people who get their news from Fox News know significantly less about news both in the U.S. and the world than people who watch no news at all.’

‘Just because those cute little bear-shaped bottles at the grocery store say “honey” on them does not necessarily mean that they actually contain honey. A comprehensive investigation conducted by Food Safety News (FSN) has found that the vast majority of so-called honey products sold at grocery stores, big box stores, drug stores, and restaurants do not contain any pollen, which means they are not real honey.

For the investigation, Vaughn Bryant, one of the nation’s leading melissopalynologists, or experts in identifying pollen in honey, and director of the Palynology Research Laboratory at Texas A&M University, evaluated more than 60 products labeled as “honey” that had been purchased by FSN from ten states and the District of Columbia.

Bryant found that 76 percent of “honey” samples purchased from major grocery store chains like Kroger and Safeway, and 77 percent of samples purchased from big box chains like Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart, did not contain any pollen. Even worse were “honey” samples taken from drug stores like Walgreens and CVS, and fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and KFC, 100 percent of which were found to contain not a trace of pollen.’
